Oooooooh but on NPR they interviewed some "conservatives" on Talk of the Nation

ANd I LOVED them! It was incredible. I haven't heard admirable conservatives who were actually speaking intelligently on issues in... ever. Finally national representatives of the party I can respect, rather than the few and far between fictional characters and personal acquaintances. Not that I'm really looking, but still.

It would be really nice to be able to argue our agendas with intelligent, honest opponents for once. Not that I would want to lose... but on the other hand I REALLY liked these guys. I can even forgive their dissing welfare.

Anyone claiming to be a conservative should really look at the history of the party; look at the people who really represented its ideals. Not the twisted screw-ups of today.

Really, this new conservative generation needs to just branch off. They've taken over the party but they're not the party. People have forgotten what the party is supposed to stand for. I certainly had. It was refreshing.

It's not that I agree with them. It's that their arguments, many of them, are as intelligent, moral, honest, and with as true intentions as the good liberals. And that they're actually making argument at all, ahha, unlike many of their contemporaries.

No cents - two cent
